Permission to attend an off-campus excursion – Yrs 9-10 Sydney Jewish Museum, 31st of May 2023 (Wednesday)

 

The excursion is intended for this specific group of students as part of enhancing their learning in the different Key Learning Areas as follows:

 

  • English – Stage 5 students have been studying War texts, including ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’ by Anne Frank. Students will be enhancing their knowledge and understanding of the historical background of this book by studying different aspects of the Holocaust and how it has affected the lives of the Jewish people.

 

  • History- This term, students from Stage 5 are learning about World War I and II. As part of their World War II study, students have been learning about the Holocaust and its effects on the Jewish people. This excursion will further develop their understanding of the Holocaust as well as give them an opportunity to study different historical sources of the Holocaust.

 

A risk assessment has been made prior to the conduct of this excursion, and potential hazards are also discussed and addressed.

 

Transport on the day will be via school bus and train.   ·

Cost:                $15 Please make full payment on or before Monday, the 29th of May, 2023.

Assembly:       ECC, 441 Blacktown Road, Prospect, NSW 2148

Departure:       8:45 am (We need to leave on time!)

Arrival:            Returning to school grounds by 3 pm

 

Transport on the day will be via school bus and train.    

 

 WHAT TO BRING / WEAR

UNIFORM: Formal Uniform
MASKS: Masks are required to be worn at this venue.
FOOD & DRINK: Please provide food for your child for the day; however, the students may bring money as students may have an opportunity to purchase food at a nearby fast food restaurant on the way back home.

In order for students to be permitted to attend the excursion, they must:

  • Be attired in the correct clothing on the day.
